Sept 14th

Okay, time for a collective sigh of relief!  The minor adjustments to my sleeping arrangements (tossed the sleeping bag and replaced it with flannel sheets; added earplugs) worked beautifully!!!  With the exception of my normal sleep interruptions, I slept like a baby and didn't wake up till 7:25!!!!  (even though sometime between 5am and wakeup time, Guinness very quietly crawled into the tent from his spot under the fly, and was all curled up sound asleep at the bottom of my therma-rest). 

Yippee - bring on more camping.

The campground was fantastic (thank you Dee and Garth), check in was a breeze and the setup was uneventful:

Unfortunately, our timing was a bit off and we missed the sunset ;(  but our walk on the beach the next day made up for it and Guinness got to burn off some energy built up by the 8 hours of travel the day before:

As you can see, we're getting some fog - temps are 14 - 19.  Not sure what the forecast is for the next few days (not that it matters, especially as we are out of the tent and booked in at the Inn on Cannon Beach), but we would love to make up for the lost sunset.

Next stop: Cannon Beach via Astoria.
